TT coupe might be considered sports car, TT convertible is hairdressers car. To be a sports car it has to be AWD and have one of the higher output engines.

TT RS is definitely a sports car.

I didn’t know that they actually made that until now. I thought it was concept only. It’s a shame that they seem to have fucked it up so badly by putting the wrong engine and transmission in it.

My 08' Audi A3 3.2 isn’t a sports car. Not sure where to class it. Its at 270 engine horse after some tuning and parts. It no longer has its speed governed. At 5.6sec 0-60 has turned a 14.1 qtr at 99 mph. Its quick but is it just a hot hatch or what? The sportback being 5 door is sometimes classed as a wagon. My wife calls it a mini-crossover.

Is it a sports car? Eh.

It’s a fun car. It’s stylish, comfortable, and a great commuter. It’s got a surprising amount of room on the inside.

I owned one for 6 years and don’t regret it. It was a fun little car.

Since the 996 the 911 has been flirting that line between sports car and GT car (quite well I might add). But sports cars (IMO)universally emphasize driving subjective tangibles rather than power/grip/braking so...

Yes. the carrera S is a sports car while the 4S isn’t. You lose the opportunity to poo yourself exploring the rear traction and gain a few dozen pounds.
